6 Ways to Look After Your Wellbeing in Lockdown

Written by Apr 02, 2021

Our team has put together our top tips for how to stay mentally healthy and well during the five day lockdown period in Perth. Even though you may have heard these tips before, it is important to ensure that you are maintaining your wellbeing over the next few days. So whether you are working from home or it's business as usual, we have some ideas that will keep you energised for the days ahead!

1. Don't skip your 1 hour of outdoors exercise

"Take the one hour of outside time to go for a walk or ride, or even just sit in the park to reconnect with the outside world. This will remind you there's a world out there that keeps on turning. Also you might see a dog and that's just an instant mood booster."

Chantelle - Operations Coordinator

2. Get creative with connection

"Make sure you reach out to friends and family in between clients and work commitments. Although you may be seeing multiple clients and colleagues a day (via telehealth or in person) it's important that you can connect with your loved ones in a time like this. You could even take this time to get a group of friends together over a virtual dinner who live in different parts of the world. What a great opportunity!"

Lauren - Marketing & Communications Coordinator

3. Create opportunities for laughter in your day

"Work can be serious. We've all felt that after the end of a long day. It's especially important at the moment to have a good laugh and take the time out to feel good. Put on your favourite funny Netflix series and see how you feel afterwards."

Britte - IU/UX Designer

4. Set up your new work environment well

"If you are working from home set up a suitable work environment that's well equipped to sustain focus. Good lighting, a quite space (if possible) and a view of the outdoors is optimal to maintain your mood!"

Drummond- Business Intelligence Analyst

5. Have a plan and stick to it

"For many of us we have a regular routine that gives us purpose and structure to our day. Make sure even if you are not visiting the office you stick to these routines as best you can. Feeling productive and useful will do wonders for your mood when restricted with your social activities!"

Carolyn - Project Consultant

6. Check in with others

"Many of us will feel isolated over the next few days. If you know anyone who may be at home alone or doing it tough make sure you reach out to them to check in. Keeping in communication will help minimise isolation".

Marty - CEO & Managing Director
