Introducing Oqea Cares

Written by Oqea Cares Nov 29, 2022

Oqea Cares is an allied health service offering face-to-face mental health and wellbeing consultations in Subiaco and Cockburn Central West, as well as Telehealth consults Australia wide. Unlike other allied health practices, Oqea Cares is powered by digital mental health and wellbeing desktop portal and app Oqea.

Oqea Cares was born from a critical need to approach mental health and wellbeing differently. Today digital means of communication and connectivity is a crucial access point for many, especially those who are vulnerable to mental health stigma, shame or other barriers as has been demonstrated by countless research projects. Oqea Cares aligns to this model of service delivery by providing face to face consultations in Subiaco, alongside the Oqea desktop platform and app.

The Oqea desktop platform and app connects the client, clinician, and wider care team in one digital place. Clients, whether they are accessing Oqea Cares for wellbeing or clinical mental health reasons, can track their wellbeing via the Oqea wellbeing tracker, providing crucial feedback on how clinical sessions are impacting client wellbeing over time. As part of their journey, clients choose who joins their digital support team, including clinicians, but also peers, family, and friends. The intent behind the design, to adopt a new zeitgeist where we enhance the ability of communities to support their own, alongside clinical professionals as needed.

From a clinical perspective, clinicians use the platform to communicate goals and tasks to clients, ensuring the support received in the therapy room continues day to day. Additionally, the traditional siloed model of sharing client information is minimised through the use of smart technology, ensuring each treating clinician is on the same page with test scores, diagnoses and client progress.

Oqea Cares is currently receiving referrals now, with the ability to offer appointments within 1-2 weeks, which in the current mental health climate is rare.

Note, some clinical services may be eligible for Medicare or private health insurance rebates – please discuss this with your GP or Private Health Insurance fund.

Stay tuned for more information on our team and exciting developments to come. In the meantime, should you wish to refer a client or enquire about our services please email us at psychology@oqeacares.au or contact our lovely customer support team via mobile on 0466786283.
